PhD in Economics with over 20 years of experience in Marketing, Tiberiu Dănețiu played a key role in establishing and expanding the Auchan network in Romania, which now includes over 440 stores. He introduced the concept of generalized discount ("everyday low prices") to the Romanian market, featuring one of the widest product ranges, and helped lay the foundations for Auchan's eCommerce & digital initiatives as Marketing Director or Innovation Director. A pioneer in retail media in Romania, together with the Auchan teams, he launched the first in-store TV screen network in 2017 and established the country’s first retail media agency in 2021. Today, 27 stores are equipped with more than 750 TV screens, and Auchan Retail Media offers brands data-driven promotional and activation services with an omnichannel approach across physical and digital platforms, as well as shopper and sales insights. Tiberiu is a member of Auchan’s board, overseeing corporate affairs, public relations, events, institutional relations, and more. Between 1997 and 2007, alongside his private sector career, he lectured at Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Commerce/Marketing, and co-authored several Marketing books.
