Arthur Keleti, cyber-secret futurist, is widely respected around the world as an expert on cybersecurity, and a visionary in his field. He is the founder of the long-running East-European cybersecurity grand conf-expo ITBN. Arthur is also the President and founder of the Voluntary Cyber Defence Collaboration, and he works for T-Systems Hungary as IT Security Strategist since 1999. He is the author of “The Imperfect Secret” a book on cyber-secrets, and the future of AI-based privacy. He is also an Executive Producer of the movie SIGHT: Extended a stunning, Augmented Reality themed Sci-Fi thriller in the making.
Logic tells us that contradictory propositions cannot both be right. This law has new principles in cyberspace, where true might be false, where what you see is not always what you get and where the person you are talking to could be a group of people or even a robot.
Facebook now tries to guess how much of the news you are reading is not faked, and cybersecurity companies talk about “zero trust” technologies suggesting that even the traffic of an internal network and the identity of its users cannot be trusted anymore, not even a tiny bit.
In this presentation, we will touch the haunting questions of
• how sensitive information put into a context bubble become cyber-secrets,
• why our “digital immune system” does not work, or even exists,
• will there be any sense left for humans to trust in “data land,”
• what role of AI will play in keeping our secrets in cyberspace,
• what the future of the complicated Menage a Troi with humans, privacy, and technology will look like.
Bonus track: a brief introduction to how ITBN.global is planning to change the future of cybersecurity events in CEE

Marco has been working with US Government and collaborating closely with the University of California, Davis on new security paradigms. During 2009 he has been working at NIST, Maryland where he improved the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG) standard.
He collaborates with different national and international public and private agencies. Marco co-founded Yoroi believing in a human-centric cyber defense approach which took him to build Yoroi Cyber Security Defence Center.
During this session we will go through how machine learning (ML) is helping on cybersecurity. We will provide practical examples on how ML “weaponize” modern cybersecurity solutions and we will check their current limitations by exploring the most common ML Attacks.
The continuously raising up of complexity in the digital era makes cybersecurity harder and harder, we will provide real examples on attack scenarios and how machine learning would help a human analyst to empower detection.
Three Takeaways:
Jakub Olek is a communications strategist with over 10 years’ experience of working with new technology and financial companies on government relations, public policy, corporate communications and regulatory affairs.
As Senior Government Relations Director for Lime – the scooter sharing company – he leads market entry and governmental affairs at central and local level in Eastern European countries and Russia. Jakub is a corporate lawyer by training, and a graduate of the Warsaw University.
For the first time in human history, over 75% of the European population live in cities and it is expected to grow to 80% by 2050. With that growth, we all have experienced the same problems: congestion, pollution, lack of space, increasing anonymity and inequality, as well as poor infrastructure. What we can do to tackle these challenges? How tech can help? Are we ready for the innovation in our daily commute? Let’s talk cities of the future!
Takeaways:
Janelle is the Marketing Manager at Crobox, an Amsterdam-based Customer Intelligence solution that combines consumer psychology with AI to deliver actionable insights. At Crobox, she manages the marketing team and defines the brand direction and strategy, translating it into bitesize cross-department projects. Her analytical yet empathetic perspective helps translate the complicated, and often intimidating, elements of data analysis into digestible actions for online retail professionals.
Throughout her career, she has used her background in psychology to make marketing efforts more engaging and relevant. Customer centricity is a vital part of her approach, from leveraging data insights to improve the customer experience to creating stories that are just as entertaining as they are educational. It’s within this scope that she helps entrepreneurs and small businesses future-proof brand strategies.
Buzz words have taken over the retail industry. Everywhere you look you see “omnichannel”, “data mining”, “e-tailer”. But what’s left underneath all this tech jargon? And how the heck can you dig through it to get to its core of straightforward actions for your marketing, merchandising, or brand strategy? In this talk, you’ll be taken on a journey from the dawn of eCommerce to the cusp of marketing technology today. We’ll get to the core of what separates the leaders from the laggards and give you the knowledge you need to turn your data into actionable insights.

How can we talk about a 100% digital company, if the business processes still involve being tied to a computer desk and working with a spectacular amount of paper documents? Of course, we do have access to an even more spectacular amount of mobile solutions that promise us increased productivity and ease of use. Maybe too many, too scattered and somehow still not enough, taking into account the main aspect that (should) interest us – cybersecurity.
We do witness an era in which, if we want our business to successfully “complete” the digital transformation imperative, we must #gomobile BUT also be secure! Wouldn’t it be great if there was one solution capable of meeting all our “desires” on this subject – 100% digital, mobile, secure, easy, paperless, integrated, customizable etc. ? Yes, it would be sweet!

Cloud native is a new fangled term that describes a set of approaches to distributing computing in the cloud.
Java was invented long before the cloud in a world when internet networking was expensive, slower and less common to the working person.
In the 21st century, computing is now a commodity, where you pay-as-you-go for services, servers functions and storage. Yet we still need common programming language that serves as a glue to connect all of these functionalities out there is the “interwebs”. Is Java still relevant to the world of cloud computing? Is Enterprise Java alive or is it dead with all of this change of pace? Will Java still be able to hold water in the next 5 years, 10 years?
In this session, we discuss what it means to be cloud-native. We talk about Spring Boot the de-facto choice for microservices. We look at the alternative programming languages on the JVM. We might look at the Go language, the programming language from Google. We definitely will look at well-architected cloud applications.
Whether you are new software developer or are you experienced in enterprise Java, you will come away from this session knowing cloud-native Java.

Gareth Morlais (@digitalst) has been a digital storyteller since 2001 when he was part of the internationally recognised team which established the award-winning BBC Capture Wales digital storytelling project in Cardiff, Wales. Begun before YouTube existed, BBC Digital Storytelling helped citizens tell their own true stories, using their own media archives. Gareth is currently a director of the Breaking Barriers Community Arts digital storytelling project.
How can you tell stories which make the hairs stand up on your customers’ necks? From ‘stunning’ to ‘swooping’, Gareth shares persuasive lessons he learned from his time with the innovative BBC Digital Storytelling project. These are all tips you can take away and use to change the way your company or organisation communicates and interacts with your customers and clients.
Three takeaways to make your digital storytelling more powerful:
1. Add swoops of scale so your audience’s imagination zooms out from a teardrop at the corner of an eye to a sweeping view over a forest vista.
2. Add sharp unexpected emotional swoops. E.g. “He cries when he’s happy, and when he’s sad.”
3. Plant mystery bombs, and don’t explode them too soon in your story.

Passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Language Processing, and business as well, Dan has over 12 years of experience running large software development teams and building new enterprise products. Having designed and deployed enterprise solutions in multiple industries, and a keen eye for User Experience, Dan has taken the opportunity to infuse AI, Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Understanding (NLP/NLU) components into the only no-code, AI-powered, enterprise chatbot authoring platform in Romania – Druid.
Technological advances in recent years have made it possible to rethink how we interact with enterprise legacy systems. We now have the tools to build and deploy more accurate and relevant conversations between man and machine, and this is giving rise to more and more chatbots and IVAs being used in the enterprise ecosystem. This has made an enormous impact in the way businesses work, as employees are now freed from monotonous and repetitive tasks and can focus on activities which have the biggest impact for businesses.

My name is Marco and I have an incredible passion for technology which I had the privilege to turn into a job. I’ve been working with .NET since the first beta, focusing on ASP.NET and, more generally, anything that is web-related. I’ve been an early adopter of Microsoft Azure – who remembers the portal in Silverlight? 🙂 – and, since its introduction, Cloud technologies have represented the core of my professional interest.
Today I work as a freelance Solutions Architect in the beautiful London, focusing on Cloud transformation. Getting involved in the .NET and Azure community is also a key aspect of my profession: I’m convinced that knowledge sharing is one of the best ways to improve our professional skills, and therefore I try to dedicate as much time as I can to activities such as writing articles or speaking at conferences and meetups. Thanks to that, I’ve been awarded as a Microsoft MVP for the last 10 years in a row.
Containers are one of the major breakthroughs in IT of the past few years and promise to revolutionize the way software is developed and deployed. Thanks to the support in Visual Studio 2019, time has never been more favorable to adopt them in our technological stack.
This talk will showcase a possible approach to port an existing ASP.NET Core solution to Docker, demonstrating how seamlessly Visual Studio integrates them in the development experience, while still embracing the advantages of dependency management that containers make possible.
After executing the solution locally on the development machine, we’ll explore which options we have in order to deploy it on Azure Kubernetes Service. We’ll show a possible example for a CI/CD pipeline in Azure DevOps and demonstrate how we can integrate it with the PaaS offering in Azure, such as Cosmos DB and Redis Cache.

And then they are surprised when some huge f*ck up happens to them. The application crashes during traffic peaks, customers are angry and the revenue goes down.

For the past 20+ years, I’ve been involved in various digital fields. Always looking for improving own skills on development methodologies and development design patterns, with a focus on building well-structured applications for various environments.
Like every IT guy almost as old as the Internet, my early years of programming started by playing games on HC 85 Ice Felix, followed by programming my own in QBasic and C.
In the continuous search for new technologies, I help developers to build and deliver stable, reliable and secure applications. All of these, of course in an agile ecosystem (or methodology :D)
Intersecting software with hardware for about 5 years I also design big data infrastructures and prepare them for high availability telemetry ingestion, play with time series dbases like InfluxDB or Prometheus and do advanced geospatial analysis in python or JS, for web.
From the very beginning of the development of an IoT product, whether small-scale as a portable device to massive-scale IoT deployments, such as a network of agricultural sensors, communications security must be taken seriously.
